About Kahawa Coffee:
 
"Women provide 90% of labor but own 1% of land.
My grandfather was a driver for the colonial government, and managed to get his hands on some seedlings to start his own coffee farm. Growing up in a community of coffee farmers, I witnessed the inequalities within the coffee industry - women provided 90% of the labor, but didn’t own land.
 
After studying abroad in the USA, I returned home with some ideas on how to bring Kenyan coffee to the world in a way that benefits our women farmers the most. I invite you to help me ensure that women farmers reap the rewards from their hard work.

About '57 Chocolate 

‘57 Chocolate is short for 1957, the year of Ghana’s independence. This venture uses resources grown within the country to create delicious treats. '57 hones in on Ghana’s Independence Day spirit and challenges the status quo that premium chocolate can only be made in Europe. '57  takes dried cocoa beans and processes them into luxurious chocolate and confections.

Their passion is to inspire the people of Ghana, especially the youth to not be satisfied at merely selling and trading the country’s natural resources or other items in their “natural” state, but to use their minds and creative geniuses to transform these resources by creating and manufacturing made in Ghana products of premium value.
